The RNA Society of Japan

The President of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) has asked the President of the RNA Society of Japan to nominate a candidate for the above-mentioned award. The RNA Society of Japan will accept nominations for the award from the regular student members. Therefore, regular student members who wish to be recommended by the President of the RNA Society of Japan are requested to submit the following application documents after carefully reading the Guidelines for Recommending Candidates for the Award. The deadline for submission is Monday, May 8, 2012.

2. Eligible for nomination
Regular student members of the RNA Society of Japan who are under 34 years of age as of April 1, 2023 and fulfill any of the following conditions 1) to 4) as of May 1, 2023. This includes students from overseas who are enrolled in a doctoral course of a graduate school. However, only those who have already paid the annual membership fee for the fiscal year 2022 at the time of the application deadline are eligible.

(1) Those who are enrolled in a doctoral course under the classification system.
(2) Those who are enrolled in the third or higher year of a doctoral course under the integrated system.
(3) Those who are enrolled in a doctoral course of only the second three years
(4) Those enrolled in a 4-year doctoral program in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, or veterinary medicine.

3. Number of nominations
Number of recommendation from the President of the Society: 2_ If two, at least one female candidate must be included (←Changed item from this year)
Please be advised that due to the limited number of nominations, the selection will be made by the Award Candidate Selection Committee, which will be determined by the Board of Councilors. Applicants will be notified of the selection results by e-mail approximately one week after the application deadline.

4. Documents to be submitted
Please be sure to submit all documents as follows. Submissions submitted in any other way may not be accepted.
Download the following MS Word documents from the list of forms for the Ikushi Prize Recommendation Forms, etc., convert them to PDF files, and upload the documents to the "Ikushi Prize Application" page in the "Members Only" menu on the RNAJ website, indicating your name and e-mail address. For (2) Letter of Reason for Nomination, it is acceptable for each nominator to submit directly to the General Secretary as an e-mail attachment. Please refer to the instructions for filling out the form.

5. Submission deadline
No later than noon, Monday, May 8, 2023 

6. Procedures after receiving an informal offer of recommendation
The person who has received an unofficial recommendation is requested to prepare the necessary documents in electronic media in accordance with the Guidelines for Recommending Candidates for the Award and submit them to the General Secretary by the deadline separately set forth.
