Congratulations to Dr. Victor Ambros and Dr. Gary Ruvkun on the Award of the Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine, 2024. “for the discovery of microRNA and its role in post-transcriptional gene regulation.”
The RNA Society of Japan has established the "Furuichi-Kariko Award." This award was proposed by Dr. Katalin Kariko, who recently delivered a special lecture at our Tokyo Annual Meeting, in memory of Dr. Yasuhiro Furuichi, an honorary member of our society who recently passed away. Dr. Kariko generously donated the honorarium from her lecture, among other contributions, to support the creation of this award. In response to this proposal, our society gratefully accepted and named the award the "Furuichi-Kariko Award." We are now calling for nominations for young and mid-career researchers who will lead future RNA research with strength and innovation. We look forward to receiving numerous applications from our members.
