About the Associate Chief Scientist Program
The Associate Chief Scientist position is for young researchers who will head their independent laboratories. The position is meant to develop the next generation of leaders in science and technology by encouraging original research undertaken with a long-term perspective. This position enables researchers to make the most of RIKEN's various research facilities inside and outside Japan, and its network of RIKEN laboratories covering a broad range of research fields.

Research fields
Research field is not specified. We require the applicant to pioneer his or her own curiosity-driven interdisciplinary research field.

Qualifications
Self-disciplined scientists with a long-term vision of the next generation of scientific endeavor.
Ability and research record to preside over own autonomous laboratory
Young and talented scientists with less than 10 years since receiving PhD or equivalent qualifications. (Also open to applicants who are few years over the qualification if they have significant research achievements.)
Open to all nationalities
